Today was great fun. I was honored to be a part of the 50-year anniversary of 1450 KOKO, a station for which I spent many days, nights and weekends working as everything from DJ to music director between my 7th-grade year and part of college. The program director, now GM, Marion "Woody" Woods (see photo), invited me to come and hang out with some of the former gang. It was nostalgic and reminded me just how many people who are now "big time" in Kansas City media got their start, just like me, at KOKO.
